Check out this German commercial for a product called "K-fee":
Warning: it's not what I'd call 100% work-safe, even though there's nothing sexual or violent about it. And yet, it could never, ever air in the States.
Additional Warning: Best not to use headphones, either.
Enjoy!
Where we saw it: tv | We deign to rate it: outta 100Holy shit.
You just took a year off my life with that. You bastard!
I've gotta share that with everyone I know...
Posted by: Steve at May 18, 2004 08:22 AMHeh heh. Yeah, I lost about six months when I saw it at Martin's place. My attention actually drifted away near the end to the stuff on his desk, but the end snapped me back into attention, and it still scared me.
And then I was watching it again on my laptop at full speed, after going through it very slowly, frame by frame at times -- and I must've jumped a foot in the air. My wife laughed at me. It's the sound that does it, I think.
If you do a search for K-fee and find their website, they have 2 other structurally similar commercials, called "Golf" and "Buddha".
Posted by: Kza at May 18, 2004 10:05 AMOh, one other thing: At least I provided some warning, as vague as they are. To my knowledge, there are 2 other places (other than the product site) to find this, and they preface it with "Can you identify the music in this car commercial?", which is too cruelly deceptive in my book.
Posted by: Kza at May 18, 2004 10:08 AMHeh. I remember getting one in an e-mail one time that actually told you to turn your volume all the way up so that you might hear the whispering ghost. I'm so glad I didn't mess with my volume.
Posted by: Steve at May 18, 2004 09:53 PMI remember an ad that was being sent around. It was all music nice and cool--the email said "be sure to turn it up loud!" After a few seconds of music this incredibly loud man's voice came on and started yelling "HEY! I'M LOOKING AT PORN OVER HERE!"
Unfortunately, it also had a virus attached....

I saw this commercial on a big screen at a youth camp last weekend. Somehow it didn't make me jump, but being at the back I got to see about 450 teenagers panic at the same time. It was almost like a mexican wave :)
