404 error -- blog not found

Looks like the blogging will be light for a couple weeks, as Martin and I dive into the second draft of Yellow. I'll still be watching movies, and I'll try to keep the weekly updates, but an opportunity has arisen and Martin and I have to make the most of it. Wish us luck!

Do share when able.

Will do. We're aiming to have the draft done on the 23rd (so I should be able to distribute it to any interested parties then), and I may--may--be able to talk about the opportunity sometime in August. Or maybe not.

Out of curiosity, what are you planning on doing with the finished script? Pitching it? Or making it yourself? I'll tell you, not enough good horror films these days ...

Actually, we're slowly but surely setting things in motion to produce it (and/or something else) ourselves--forming a production company, getting financing, etc. The opportunity I keep alluding to but can't really talk about is more on the "pitch" side of things. Needless to say, if someone waved a huge wad of cash under our noses, I can't say we wouldn't take it and run.

Also, it should be noted that although the original spark that started the script was that it would be a horror film in the tradition of Argento, it's much less a horror piece than a mystery/suspense one (although still very much Argento-ish, I believe.) I would like to write and produce a true horror movie, though; in fact, I'd love to make a balls-out adaptation of Richard Laymon's "The Cellar", a ridiculous, despicable, wonderful piece of trash. That's one of my dreams, at least.

Good for you. Guess now I really do need to print your script and read it. Sorry, been working 7x/week. BTW: hopefully I will have my site up and running again soon, for what it's worth (not much).

Oh hush with your "not much".

Although I will take this opportunity to razz you:

only a 47 for Black Christmas???

Don't remember much about BLACK X-MAS, 'cept for the fact that I wasn't overly impressed. Give me HALLOWEEN or even the first ten minutes of WHEN A STRANGER CALLS any day.

I devoured the scipt whole on my flight into Portland. I'll send a record of thoughts soon.

Cool, cool, cool. Thank you very much, Steve.

Speaking of which, hopefully a Week In Review tomorrow with a Yellow update. Martin and I did a 10 1/2 hour story session today and boy are my arms tired.

Or something.

I look forward to finally reading YELLOW today, a rare day off for me.
